Programs - Outdoor 2011 Overview
Premier Division
U14-18 Tier 1 and U12
Tier 1/2 Tier 1 is the highest level of soccer in Calgary. The U14-U18 season leads to Tier 1 Provincials in late August. Provincial Champions participate in Nationals over the Thanksgiving weekend in October. Academy participation is mandatory. Participation in elite, national and international tournaments is common and some teams participate in fundraising activities to help off-set costs. The outdoor season runs from early May to the middle of August. Teams participate in 4 to 5 soccer activities per week.
Tier 2/3
Tier 2/3 is the second level of soccer in Calgary. The U14-U18 season leads to Tier 2 Provincials in mid August or Tier 3 Provincials in early August. Academy participation for the U12 to U16 age groups is mandatory and is highly recommended for the U18 age group. Participation in tournaments in Alberta and other Provinces is common and some teams participate in fundraising activities to help off-set costs. The outdoor season runs from early May to the end of July. Teams participate in 4 to 5 soccer activities per week.
Tier 3/4
Tier 3/4 is the entry-level of Premier soccer in Calgary. The U14-U18 season leads to Tier 3 Provincials in early August or Tier 4 Provincials in early July. Academy participation is optional but highly recommended. Participation in tournaments is common and some teams participate in fundraising activities to help off-set costs. The outdoor season runs from early May to the end of July. Teams participate in 3 to 4 soccer activities per week.
Competitive Division
Tier 5
Tier 5 is the highest level of Competitive soccer for the player who does not wish to make the higher commitment level required for Premier. The season leads to Intercity Championships in mid-July. Academy participation for all age groups is highly recommended. Participation in tournaments is optional.The outdoor season runs from late April to the beginning of July. Teams participate in 2 to 3 soccer activities per week.
Tier 6
Tier 6 is a level of Competitive soccer for the player who does not want to make a huge commitment to the sport. The season leads to City Championships in late June. Academy participation for all age groups is highly recommended. Participation in tournaments is optional.The outdoor season runs from late April to the end of June. Teams participate in 2 soccer activities per week.
Developmental Division
U8 City League
The CMSA U8 City League although not a Tiered League is geared to the player willing to make a bigger commitment by travelling outside of their respective community to other communities in the SE Quadrant of Calgary to play games. The outdoor season runs from early May to the end of June. Teams participate in 3 to 4 soccer activities per week. Players will receive 4 Technical sessions with NSD Soccer Club technical staff included in their registration fee. Teams will also participate in CMSA Soccer Festivals in June. Players born 2003-2004.
Tier 10 A
Tier A is the highest level of U10 Developmental soccer. It is in place for dedicated and skilled players who aspire to be Tier 1 level players as they move into U12. Academy participation for this level of play is mandatory. Participation in tournaments is the norm.The outdoor season runs from early May to the end of June. Teams participate in 4 to 5 soccer activities per week. Players born 2001-2002.
Tier 10 B
Tier B is the 2nd level of U10 Developmental soccer. It is in place for dedicated and skilled players who aspire to be Tier 2 to Tier 4 as they move into U12. Academy participation for this level of play is highly recommended. Participation in tournaments is optional.The outdoor season runs from early May to the end of June. Teams participate in 3 to 4 soccer activities per week. Players born 2001-2002.
Tier 10 C
Tier C is the 3rd level of U10 Developmental soccer. It is in place for players who aspire to be Tier 5 or Tier 6 players as they move into U12. Academy participation for this level of play is recommended. Participation in tournaments is optional.The outdoor season runs from early May to the end of June. Teams participate in 2 to 3 soccer activities per week. Players born 2001-2002.
House League
The NSD Soccer Club House League Program is a community based program focusing on the development of skills in a fun positive environment.
U4
A gender mixed program that utilises a 3 v 3 mini-soccer game format. The outdoor season runs April 30th to June 25th. Combined practice session and game held on Saturday mornings from 10am to 11am in McKenzie Towne, Cranston, Mid-Sun, Sundance and Chaparral. Players require weather suitable clothing, soccer or running shoes and shin pads. T-shirt, socks, team photo and participation medal included. Teams participate in 1 soccer activity per week. Players born in 2007.
U6
A gender split program that utilises a 3 v 3 mini-soccer game format. The outdoor season runs May 2nd to June 29th. Two (1 hour in Duration) combined practice/games held on Monday's and Wednesday's between 6:00pm and 8:00pm in Chaparral, Mid-Sun, New Brighton/McKenzie Towne and Cranston. Players require weather suitable clothing, soccer or running shoes and shin pads. T-shirt, socks, team photo and participation medal included. Teams participate in 2 soccer activities per week. Players born in 2005-2006.
U8
A gender split program that utilises a 5 v 5 with goalkeepers mini-soccer game format. The outdoor season runs May 3rd to June 30th.One practice (1 hour in Duration) and 1 game held on Tuesday's and Thursday's respectively between 6:00pm and 8:00pm in Chaparral, Mid-Sun, New Brighton/McKenzie Towne or Cranston. Players require weather suitable clothing, soccer or running shoes and shin pads. T-shirt, socks, team photo and participation medal included. Teams participate in 2 soccer activities per week. Teams will also participate in CMSA Soccer Festival on June 8th 2010 and CMSA U8 Wrap-up festival on June 26th. Players born 2003-2004.
U10
A gender split program that utilises a 7 v 7 with goalkeepers mini-soccer game format. The outdoor season runs May 2nd to June 30th. Two (1 hour in Duration) combined practice/games held on Monday's and Thursday's between 6:00pm and 8:00pm in Chaparral, Mid-Sun, New Brighton/McKenzie Towne and Cranston. Players require weather suitable clothing, soccer or running shoes and shin pads. T-shirt, socks, team photo and participation medal included. Teams participate in 2 soccer activities per week. Adult
